In 2006 Wright Music Academy opened its doors to the Katy, Fulshear, and Richmond community. The visionof the school has always been preparing each student to develop into a well-rounded musician and acquire skills and training that will last and enrich them for the rest of their lives.  Mt. Wright and his degree specific university trained teachers aim to prepare students and instills a lifelong love of music through a supportive, nurturing, and cross-disciplinary approach to teaching the fundamentals, technique, artistry, expression, music composition, and music theory.​

 

The school has produced many competition and festival winners. Being a member of local and national music organizations and affiliations, Mr. Wright is passionate about giving all students an opportunity to excel. He and his faculty believe that any student may enjoy a thorough and rigorous foundation training centered around repertoire study, technical development, theory, and performance skills.

Tobin Wright himself has been teaching piano since 1996 and holds degrees in piano performance and pedagogy (teaching piano) from Louisiana State University (M.M.) and the University of Central Missouri (B.M.). He was a celebrated teacher prior to moving to Katy.  In addition to his teaching endeavors, Mr. Wright has performed as a pianist and composer throughout the Houston area and on social media platforms.

Tobin and his family also have a real estate business based in Katy:  TW Homes.  This allows him to bring a uniquely pragmatic approach to music instruction: in addition to the purely musical skills, Tobin and his faculty want all of his students to be able to enjoy music for a lifetime, regardless of their career path.
