Tobin Wright received his Master of Music with an emphasis in piano performance from Louisiana State Universty (LSU) and his Bachelor of Music from the University of Central Missouri (UCM) in both piano performance and piano education. Mr Wright taught at the Prepatory Program and Music Academy at the UCM and LSU respectively. Further responsibilities at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge included a graduate teaching assistantship in which he taught college class piano. His specialty in piano education specifically targets students with learning disabilities.
Mr. Wright has been a private piano instructor for the past 13 years and has held private studios in Baton Rouge, LA, College Station, TX and Katy,TX. Many of his students have received special recognition for their exemplary performance in the state music theory test, Spring Festival, MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) composition competition and PTA reflections competition in music. He has also had extensive experience teaching students from as young as 5 to 60 years old. While his concentration in school has been piano, he also teaches trombone and music composition, as well as self publishing his own works.
In addition to his normal teaching position at Wright Music Academy he has also held membership in the American College of Musicians, MTNA, BRMTA, (Baton Rouge Music Teachers Association) and KMTA (Katy Music Teachers Association). He has served as vice-president and president of KMTA.
